I chose Nautanki Saala! over Commando, but when I finally saw the latter, I was impressed by it. The former was waste of money.Vidhyut Jaamwal is absolutely great as the action hero & I am sure he will come right up. I cannot say the same with newcomer Pooja who reminded me most of Jab We Met's Kareena Kapoor. She was okay, but needs to take some more acting classes. Jaideep Ahlawat is stunning & vindictive in his role as the lead villain. His tiny tidbits with sharing jokes, showing built-up mercy for his victims & glorious performance brings him in the limelight. Supporting cast is good. The music is suspending over the weak plot but as a whole, it sure is a grandeur.What Commando lacks as a cinema is the clichéd story, bad editing (three different shots of Vidhyut round-jumping a moving car, are you serious?), average screenplay & clever execution of ample resources. What could've been an eye-opener, these parts make Commando a one-time watch. With certain things copied from Hollywood (which is okay as far as it looks genuine), filling the romance (which thank God is platonic) & awkward comic situations in between serious plot points is a let-down. The lead couple's cut-shots while their adversary is planning to capture them was disheartening. Dialogs were more of energetic than submissive. Large number of goofs, faux pas & implications makes me rate it a humble 5.BOTTOM LINE: Commando is a good effort by the film-makers and the speculation of possible sequel surely deserves my go-ahead (if as a critic, I might propose).Can be watched with a typical Indian family?
