User Review:

Bigfoot – The Lost Coast Tapes. (Horror/Sci-Fi) The 'Lost Coast Tapes' falls into another one of those lost and found footage franchise. With a typical intro to the characters whom, I must admit, did not really bond with me. You had the jock type, the college nerd and a fairly strong female character. The director, Corey Grant, gave us a fairly new dose of found footage movies and seemed to have breathed new life into an otherwise saturated market in this type of movie. The premise is that a group head out to film and document an interview with a man who claims to have inside knowledge of Bigfoot. The arguments between the characters are believable in the sense that they do not simply believe everything about a mythical creature. With various attempts at debunking the creature fails and are left fearing for their very lives. From what seemed to be an idea of pranks turns out to be very real. The effects are limited an plays out extremely well, leaving it to your imagination allowing you, the viewer to simply work out what the creature looks like. Bigfoot or not, the ending is not your typical 'hey look, there's Bigfoot' and we all live happily ever after. The ending is pleasantly surprising and may or may not leaving you to ask yourself, WHAT IF?.I could have seen a lot more potential but not a bad flick.I would recommend this film if you would like to delve into the realms of possible Cryptozoic creatures running about.
